""With the relaunch of the city's first digital radio broadcasting company Digital Broadcasting Corporation (DBC) this week, C.E.O. Loh Chan said content was the most important element to attract audiences.'

Loh said, "Content is the king". He said that content is the most important element among media. Meaningless content would be against the listening public's interests.

DBC, which was established in 2008, relaunched this week after several months off the air. It now has at least 30 new programme hosts and 30 other newly recruited staff.

Loh said, as the situation of aging population became more serious in Hong Kong, producing programs for elderly was the advantage to DBC. Loh said, The USA and Japan had a mature program links to their audiences but Hong Kong was lacked for these kinds of programs.

"Nowadays, 1 out of 7 Hong Kong people are an elderly. After 20years, the situation will be more serious that 1 out of 4 Hongkongers is an elderly", Loh said. Radio programs should consider elderly because their spending power was essential.

According to the research of the USA, the usages of traditional media such as newspaper, magazine and TV news were decreasing in the past 20 years. However, different social media, digital media and smartphone were popular among these few years, audiences tended to get information and news from those social media.

Lo said, "Social media is the trend of the world and Hong Kong". In the future, when 4G is popular among the audiences, audiences will get the information from smartphone and tablet.
