"Mini Olympics" in Hong Kong

Hong Kong first year to hold a olympic games competition just like organizing a mini olympics in local terrirtories which need to tackle various challenges in order to meet the world’s olympic field criteria.

Dr. Horace Yuen, Director of Corporate Administration, Equestrian Events of the Games of the XXlX Olympiad Co. Ltd. In Hong Kong participated a talk about Olympic Spirit and Social Values yesterday believed that Hong Kong did not have a set of all-rounded infrastructures for equestrianism Olympic competition.

“This is the first year for Hong Kong to organize this large scale project which is just like holding a ‘mini Olympics’ in Hong Kong,” Yuen said. Just like Beijing, the hosting country of Olympics 2008, there are well equipped with a large Olympic village. Similarly, Hong Kong also needed to arrange accommodations for over 225 competitions’ participants. Yuen explained that they needed to book various hotels and reconstruct them so that they are analogous to the traditional Olympic Village.

Yuen also stated that they had been facing other challenges at the very beginning once Hong Kong was successfully approved to hold equestrian events in Hong Kong including the lack of time, experienced local Olympic Competitions organizers, competitions stadium and infrastructures and the ever-changing weather of Hong Kong.
