Speaking in Hong Kong Shue Yan University this afternoon, Robert Chow said he disagreed with Occupy Central organizer Benny Tai Yiu-ting’s idea to "occupy central" to fight for democracy, adding that this would create a negative and a far-reaching impact on Hong Kong.

"Democratic development is the main course but using extreme methods"

Chow said that his campaign "Helping Hong Kong to speak out" was established is due to security concerns, he is fear of the extreme stands of some parties that aroused the "occupy central" movement. Chow emphasized his concern about violence that occurs during the occupation of Central. Despite the rational character of Hong Kong people, Chow said, no one could rule out the possibility of a bloodshed or social unrest resulting from occupying Central. By then, Chow believed that social harmony should be achieved through peaceful conversations.

Recognizing the fact before fighting for universal suffrage in Hong Kong

Chow questioned about the definition of genuine universal suffrage by pan-democratic parties , he said, according to the Basic Law, the central has the right to abundant elected parties. He said, genuine universal suffrage may not be the ideal election process for Hong Kong people.
