Ivan Yau Man Wah, a former anchor of TVB, said reporters face great challenge(more than one) nowadays. They need to control their morale and be(ing) impersonal. Also, timeliness becomes more important because of the development of technology.

Yau said, reporters should control their emotions well and he used the report on Garley Building fire on 1996 as an example. He said that when he saw lots of dead bodies, he felt heartbroken. However, if he cried in front of the camera, audiences may think that he was not professional enough. Moreover, his report may also (reflexive verb) affect(past tense) by his emotion. So he thought that (emotion management? rephrase) was important to reporters.

Yau said that timeliness became more important in news reporting. It was because the advanced technology improved the speed of news broadcasting. It was much more eas(il)y to broadcast visual and sound through Internet or other tools. However, it seemed like “everyone can be a reporter”. So, reporters should be more professional and focus on the quality of the news and the skill of reporting. Also, he reminded that reporters should be careful of sharing feeling or personal viewpoint online. “Internet is such a public place, you should think twice before posting any things or comment online,” he said.

Be mindful of deadline.
