“Hong Kong superiority is substituting” said Leung Chun-ying

Executive Council convenor Leung Chun-ying expressed that the relative economic superiority in Hong Kong was reducing. The Hong Kong government must take a scheme to help the long term economic growth.

“Within this 5 to 10 years, the economic outlook in Hong Kong is careworn. Also, the problem of marginalization is affecting Hong Kong constantly.” He said.

Leung said marginalization has been proposed 2 years ago, but it is less concerned by the government, even in the business community or the academic circle. He said that the government must do more research and take more action on marginlization, if don’t, the problem will become worse.

He also said that the relative economic superiority was reducing in Hong Kong. The superiority of coffer and technique is replaced by Mainland in time.

Leung has led by example, although the freight handling capacity of containers is increasing continually, but the rate of increase is descending. In a same time, the freight handling capacity of containers in mainland is boosting and the capacity is immensity. “So that Hong Kong cannot be described as the top of the container terminals in the world ,it is just one of the world-topped container terminals only.” He said

Besides, the open of fund market and better education in mainland are also falter the Hong Kong superiority

He also emphasized that the back up of China, and Hong Kong needs to find the position to identify herself among the other 660 Chinese cities. To achieve sustainable economical development,the government must forecast the future, not only three or five years, think of danger in peace, and maintenance crisis realizing .
