(Your lead could be trimmed by rearrangement of your wording. For example: Ma Chim Wai, The executive producer of RTHK TV , said that a reporter's job is to supervise the government but never a mouthpiece of it, even as his critical program was threatened to be cancelled soon. James Ma is NOT the host of the show, he is a producer. What did not mean when you said “We did talk about this, as they want to put a one-on-one show in the prime period. Now we got one and will be released on 21st Dec."? Did that mean Legco Review would be pulled off the air?)

“Reporters should supervise the Government”, James Ma

The Executive Producer of the RTHK, Ma Chim Wai, James went to Hong Kong Shue Yan University and gave a speech to the Journalism students. He thinks that reporter are responsible for supervising the government, and they are not the mouthpiece of the government, even if his program was nearly be terminated.

James Ma is the host of the RTHK TV program, LegCo Review, which is a program talk about current issues, invites guest to discuss and judge the government. It is a quite sensitive topic that not easy for a company to run, especially a government-funded company. “People will ask then, the government gave money for you to run, you are not supposed to judge them” However, Ma thinks that reporters are responsible to monitor the government that should not be influenced.

Expect LegCo Review, there are other TV programs such as Headliner and Hong Kong Connection which also talk about current news. Some said that RTHK is going to terminated LegCo Review as it is somehow overlapped with the others. “We did talk about this, as they want to put a one-on-one show in the prime period. Now we got one and will be released on 21st Dec. ”
