(Your lead was OK. Why you labeled the Huff Post as the AMERICAN based online newspaper? Why the emphasis on AMERICAN? Weren't the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal or Newsweek also AMERICAN based news publications? The Huff Post reported world news too, like the story "China goes to space". And it had also launched its Japanese version not too long ago. You should also elaborate a bit more on how the online news website interacted with social media to gain growth.)

Chris C. Anderson, senior editor of The Huffington Post, said that social media is a way to the success of the American based online newspaper, in a talk at Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

As first ranking political and news website, Anderson said that there were more than 45 million unique views on their website, as well as more than 9 million comments across the site in last three months. Anderson said that “Social is a big part of it,” Anderson said that Huffington Posts uses not only their own website, also various well known social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter; and they can help reaching people in different parts of the world.

Anderson said that the trend is changing; people are now shifting from traditional, printed media to those online. Anderson added that although speedy content is important for them, they need to filter useful information to fit the demand of readers.
