AI not replacing human jobs

“AI (Artificial Intelligence) will not replace human but transforms the types of human jobs,” said Dr. Cheong, who is the Chief Consultant of uMax Data Technology Limited (Hong Kong).

AI generation is approaching. Some might worry AI might easily replaces not only most of the jobs with repeating work, but also professional jobs, including doctors, attorneys, analysts and so on.

Dr. Angus W. H. Cheong, the Founder & CEO of e-Research & Solutions (Macau), said “It is an inevitable process for us to embrace a new generation. Frankly, many people may lose jobs at the beginning, not just ordinary folks this time, but also professionals. Even doctors might be entirely displaced by AI indeed. But it does not mean human are worthless and going to be unemployed forever. I strongly advocate people should get themselves prepared with continuing education to embrace the rapid and readily AI generation in order to get an AI related job.”

Some people consider AI as a potential treat Stephen William Hawking, who was the British theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author, has warned the whole world, saying AI could destroy civilization and could be the worst thing that has ever happened to humanity.

Dr. Cheong said, “I disagree with Dr. Hawking. The development of AI is sheer under control albeit the future of mankind is capricious. The betrayal of AI is more likely a scene of Hollywood movie. At least for the moment of now, I don’t see any possibilities of human destruction. And the attribute of AI is way far from what Hawking said.”

People should not fear of AI, which is definitely designed for the human daily convenience and human safety will always be the first priority when they are considering the development of AI, said Dr. Cheong.
