AR/VR & immersive technologies are the future

By Lam Sin Sze, Ceci on 7 March, 2017

Mr. David Castaneda and Mr. Frantz Lasorne, Co-Founders of Visionaries 777, shared their experience of starting a business and the future development of the AR/VR & immersive technologies. They were invited to give a presentation yesterday to a group of journalism and communication students in Shue Yan University.

Mr. Castaneda claimed that the AR/VR & immersive technologies would be the trend of the world in the near future. Although these technologies are widely applied in different aspects of our economy nowadays, the users of these are a minority. The AR/VR & immersive technologies, they believed, would become more popular in more and more aspects and be applied in different ways because it specialised in connecting the virtual world and the real world.

Both Mr. Castaneda and Mr. Lasorne said that they faced some difficulties when starting the business in Hong Kong. They perceived Hong Kong as a challenging place to develop their business because it is a headache to capture people's attention here. Hong Kong is a fast paced city and the people are very busy. Therefore, they decided to develop a stable tool that people can use for a long time, not something flashy and dazzling and appealing for a very short time only.

They also dispensed some words of wisdom to the young people who want to start they own business. Mr. Castaneda encouraged the students not to be afraid of failures. He understood the difficulty of stomaching failures but it was not something bad. People can learn lots of things from the experiences.

Mr. Lasorne told the young audience not to start the business alone. People can take advice from their partners and make improvement after getting some feedback. Also, having someone to rely on is very important and good in starting a business.
