ATV boost to welcome Olympics

A former TVB manager quitted the job and has been implementing his plan to innovate ATV, and he is preparing to utilize this platform to enter global market with his motto “Think out of the box”.

Dewy Ip, Executive Vice President of Asia Television Limited (ATV) has worked in several international corporations with well-paid salary, the only reason he entered ATV, which only occupied 20% share of the market, is to make a thing from nothing. To build up an empire for ATV is not an easy task, “ATV has limited resources and budget, but this is not an excuse to hinder any development.” he explained. “This is an actual challenge ahead in reality, but it is exactly what I want to gain satisfaction, to fulfill my dream.”

August Olympics is approaching. Every media is busy preparing for the programs, while people were discussing “to bring Olympics to Beijing”, Ip said he is trying to “bring Olympics to Hong Kong”. Ip disclosed that ATV has invited the Hong Kong first Olympics gold medal winner, Li Lai-shan as one of the host. Besides, ATV has made ready a secret weapon and will show everyone in right time.

He thinks ATV is working and forging to the goal slowly. A set of creative programs were broadcast, like “Look into the AVs” in the mid-night. He thinks it could become a hot topic if it is being broadcasted in TVB. When asked about the differences between TVB and ATV, he said TVB has a complete structure and experienced with abundant resources. On contrary, ATV has been taking over by many CEOs, as many as 17 units in a few decades. Since the leaders are always changing, this leads to a lack of cooperation as a team. Nevertheless, he believed ATV has room for improvement.
