As Bo’s wife, Gu Kailai, might have murdered a British businessman, she has been claimed of violating the law. More importantly, Bo tried to turn a blind eye to his wife. Liu mentioned that Bo should bear some responsibilities towards his wife’s serious guilt. Liu pointed out that there are many rumors about the truth of Bo’s scandal. “It is right to arrest Bo Xilai for further investigation,” Liu said.

According to the final decision of the Chinese government, Bo was dismissed from the position of Chongqing’s top official. Liu said that the result of Bo’s scandal reflected the progress and development of having more and more democracy in China. “Although Bo’s scandal is still a sensitive issue to talk about in China, it did show an improvement of taking legal action in China,” Liu added.
