A new era of television industry(updated)

(updated)

The Broadcast Authority is now planning to launch three more free television licenses but ATV had an objection to the new licenses due to crippling competitiveness. Ricky Wong Wai Kay, the Chairman of City Telecom (H.K.) Limited, said the delay of the issuance of license will not affect the investment and the schedule of drama and production schedule will be followed properly. (good opening!)

The Hong Kong Media Production Company limited under the City Telecom (H.K.) limited is now established and spent more than 800 million dollars to construct a new broadcast tower including eight studios in Tseung Kwan O. The area is 219,670 square feet with a 15,000 square feet asia biggest studio. “The facilities are open for public and school visits” Wong said.

With the new tower, Wong said the company will start 6 channels in the first year with five times more after six years. The company will produce 260 hours of drama investing more than 10 million.

Though television is a sunset industry, Wong said improvements should be made by new setup and new company. The management will be different to traditional media corporates which staffs can give their opinion and the drama teams have their freedom to choose what drama to produce. “By making improvements, I hope I can bring a new world”, Wong said.

Good opening, other than missing plurals, and confusing syntax in the last paragraph, the article did a good job of being clear & concise.
