The fast trend of social media and social network make people wonder the existence of newspaper. They question on how far it will end. It may happen, but the statistics show the contrast. Agnes Lam, Assistant Professor of The Department of Communication at University of Macau explored the statistics that the newspaper circulation in Asia has been rising since 2006 while the world circulation is dropping. And the fact is more than that.

Lam revealed more from World Press Trends Report 2015 which was published by World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA). It stated out statistically the newspaper circulation in Asia has been rising since 2006 while the world circulation is dropping. Moreover, it was the first time that printed and digital circulation revenue ($92 billions) is more than advertisement revenue ($87 billions). Lam described it as a revolutionary step. WAN-IFRA also implied it is not an end to Newspaper. She believed the importance of reader is high than the past.

Lam also said the house video entertainment and broadband, e.g. Google, Facebook had the biggest development during these years. “These new media integrated different traditional function, like IPR and encoding, which comfort the world and affect the whole media industry.” She added.
