With the publication of "Sharp Daily", there are more than five free newspapers extant in Hong Kong right now. President of "AM730", Alan Lo said that in this fierce competition, "AM730" still has its living space and position, as well as opportunity for the newspaper to become a newspaper with good ethics.

AM730 No Gossip

If we compared “AM730" to "Headline Daily", Alan Lo agrees that the level of entertainment in “AM730" would be less, because they do not have paparazzi to pursue entertainment news or other "gossip". He is confident that the higher knowledge content of the newspaper, daring to use foreign news on the front page, will be a unique characteristic that other free newspapers will not own.

Ethics are the key

He admitted that revenue of advertisement in free newspapers depends on the number of readers, which indirectly affects its survival. Although aware that blood, sex, and violence would attract more readers, he made it clear that he does not want sex, violence or other subjects like Edison Chen's pornographic photo events to appear in his paper.

Therefore, he is not worried about the survival of "AM730" and posses optimism for the market for free newspapers as "more choices in different scopes are always better for readers."
