Allen Ha, the chairman of Lantau Development Alliance, said that the problem Hong Kong faces was not a lack of tourists but of supporting facilities.

Ha means that most of the clerk of the world can speak Mandarin, but Hong Kong has a conflict with mainland tourists, the problem is that although many visitors go to Hong Kong, but the demand outnumbers the supply in the market. Lack of tourism infrastructure, especially lack of hotel rooms, resulting in failure to benefit the public in Hong Kong, most of the benefits are so invested in the Tsim Sha Tsui area by government, therefore need a bigger pie to add more jobs.

Ha said that because of there is not enough land in Sheung Shui and tourism planning is also very slow, so the local residents and tourists are mixing in the same area, leading to the development is not ideal, so they must "learn from mistakes". Lantau District has sufficient land to develop, so it is necessary to plan in advance.
