Always have the best preparation and anticipate the worst case, the General Manager - Corporate Communication of NWS Holdings Limited Kwan Chuk Fai said when he shared his opinion on “Crisis Management” at the Hong Kong Shue Yan College on Tuesday.

Kwan Chuk Fai believed that we should have the best preparation and anticipate the worst case all the time. You cannot control everything and some crisis cannot be avoided no matter how well you have prepared, he strengthened.

He requested his subordinates and himself did well and professional all the time. I requested all subordinates have an emergency telephone guide which lists all co-workers’ telephone number, journalists’ telephone number, radio phone-in number and even flower shops’ telephone number, he said.

Being a public relations officer, he should pay attention on everything. He should make a resolution as soon as possible and be bold enough to release any messages if there is any crisis. Otherwise, public will not forgive and support your company anymore, Kwan Chuk Fai explained.

He stated that credit crisis was the most different crisis to handle as it was very easy to let a company closed down because of low creditable image. However, if you can handle the crisis well, you can help the company to build up a more creditable image, Kwan Chuk Fai said.
