Applization may kill Hong Kong media

Yi-ping Law, the Chief Editor of Finet expresses her tragedy about Hong Kong’s media of being “Applization” in Shue Yan University. Law states that the commercial reason of media is far more influential than the strict political censorship of mainland.

“Applization is a new term measurably created for Hong Kong’s media as the meaning of following the exaggerative and immoral report style of Apple Daily.” The media in Hong Kong, including financial reporting, concern interesting more than Importance. It seems that all news need entertaining element while decent news are killing.

Having been a journalist for twenty year, Law says that mainland journalists are braver than Hong Kong journalists. As reporting news in mainland have many limitations, the result of reporting news which is not willing be published by the government can be very serious like jailed. It’s a luck that after 1997, the restriction has gotten loose and brighter. It’s not a big problem for Hong Kong journalist to do mainland reporting now if he or she realize and obey the journalists’ rules of mainland.
