Better content makes better revenue

Loh Chan, the C.E.O. of DBC (Digital Broadcasting Corporation Hong Kong Limited), said that in order to balance the revenue and expenditure, DBC needed to enrich the content of the radio programs during the general assembly organized by the department of Journalism and Communication of Hong Kong Shue Yan University.

To fight with other broadcasting stations, Loh said that DBC would find its own style and gained some audiences in the coming one to two years. He claimed that the direction of DBC was different from Commercial Radio Hong Kong, Radio Television Hong Kong and Metro Broadcasting Corporation Limited. Although other radio stations were more experienced, the targeted audiences of them were different. DBC would find out a unique style to attract audiences.

In order to attract the elder audiences, DBC would cooperate with different organizations. These organizations would distribute the radio sets with their company logos to elders for free, to support DBC’s service. Loh said that there were few radio stations proving radio programs that were suitable for elders. He mentioned that many organizations were willing to sponsor DBC and helping elders to have better retirement lives.
