In order to cooperate with the opening of free TV broadcast station, CTI hold a recruitment meeting in Hong Kong Shue Yan University today.

Ricky Wong, Chairman of City Telecom (H.K.) Limited, announced the free TV broadcast station is going to open either in the coming 1st October or 1st January 2013. The company will invest 20 to 25 hundred million for the coming five years. “We aim at manpower building as there is a hunger gap in the local television industry,” said Ricky Wong who recruited more than hundreds talents from other free TV broadcast station.


CTI is planning to construct a television and multi-media production studio in Tseung Kwan O within two years. The studio will occupy 220 thousands square feet, which is about 33 football fields in size. The studio will open to public and schools for visit.


CTI is planning to open six channels at first, and producing 260 hours of programs in the first year and 650 hours in the second year. “Most of our programs will be shot in reality, but not in studio,” said Ricky Wong. More time would be given to the scriptwriters and producers, “we will be given five to six days for shooting one episode of program, which will be much more than what the free TV station is giving, which is around three days per one episode,” Ricky added. Also, he said that new idea of broadcast time and pattern will be provided and announced later.
