CY Leung, the Chief Executive of HKSAR, was the "sinner" on the free to air TV licensing matter, Ricky Wong, chairman of HKTV, said yesterday in an university talk.

Tam Yiu Chung, chairman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, publicly indicated that he hoped Wong will reconsider his choice about the acquisition of ATV. TAM believed that this acquisition will be a win-win tactics for both ATV and HKTV, the public could enjoy more rights to choose their TV channels as well. Wong reiterated that HKTV won't consider this proposal at this stage. WONG even described ATV as "trash" and the action of acquisition as " an utilization of trash", the quality and capability of ATV was the main reason to explain why he didn’t plan to acquire ATV at this stage.

"I was never blacklisted by China!" said by Wong. He believed that TAM made this recommendation after receiving some special messages from the China's Central Government and analyzing the current situation. WONG had confidence to say that he was never blacklisted by China's government, which was also the proof for his argument about CY Leung, the Chief Executive of HKSAR was the "sinner" on the free to air TV licensing matter, but not anyone from the China's Central Government or any member from the Executive Council.

Moreover, CY Leung, Chief Executive and Gregory So, Secretary of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau had a meeting with the New People's Party and the Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong to explain the decision about the free to air TV licenses. After this meeting, Michael Tien, vice-chairman of the New People's Party stated that HKTV scored the lowest mark at the Financial sustainability criteria among the other applicants, which was the main reason to cause HKTV to lose the free to air TV license.

Wong responded that the above statement were not authentic, he believed Michael Tien was misguided by the government. WONG said that he will announce a declaration within this week, in order to proof their Financial sustainability to the public. --115045 2013年11月5日 (二) 18:03 (UTC)
