  Chairman of Centaline shared his management principle at University

The chairman of Centaline (Holdings) Co. Ltd., Shik Wing Ching, and the Director of AM730 Media Ltd., Danny Fung, attended a talk today at Hong Kong Shue Yan University and shared their view over management principle and the development of the free daily in Hong Kong.

Shik emphasized the importance of rewards, saying that employees would not work hard for you if the rewards and remuneration they get is not equal to their efforts. “That is the reason for me to share the profit of our company with them.” He added.

Another management principle he applied is “The lesser the boss orders, the more the subordinate evolves”. He said he believed in the Taoism, and tended to do as less as he could in order to listen to more new thinking from his subordinates.

The director of AM730 Media Ltd., Danny Fung, believed that they should lead the readers to think rather than just providing some sensational news to them. “Some newspapers like using bloody photos to be their headlines, but we don’t!” he added. “We have to shoulder our responsibility to the society. We use our heart to run this newspaper, and we are now break-even. We achieve that even faster than “Headline” (Another Chinese free daily).” he said.
