The spokesperson of Alliance for True Democracy, Cheng Yu Shek, who also is the chair professor of political science at City University of Hong Kong, said if there is no democracy in Hong Kong, that will negatively influence the position of Hong Kong.

Cheng said that there are democratic elections in the civilized countries all over the world. Cheng said when examining the Chief Executive Election in Hong Kong, the system of the election is unreasonable since it is not democratic at all. Cheng analyzed that if the government has no legitimacy from Hong Kong citizens, the governing in Hong Kong will be a tough task.

Although the Hong Kong government has established the political reform consulting group in this month, Cheng said there is no sincerity of the government in the matter of political reform in Hong Kong. He estimates that the Central government will only make the decision after the discussions the Party Congress in November.

According to the report of Hong Kong Economic Times, Cheng insisted to meet with Shih Ming-te, who was the key person of fighting democracy in Taiwan, ignoring the opposing force in the Alliance. "It's not true!" said Cheng angrily. He continued that since he is the spokesperson of the Alliance, all of his action and speech are approved by the members of the Alliance.

The Alliance for True Democracy is a coalition of pan-democratics who fight for universal suffrage in Hong Kong. It was formed by 12 democratic groups which including 27 members of the Legislative Council in March, 2013.--115047 2013年10月22日 (二) 18:21 (UTC)
