China will become more democratic

Recently, Bo Xilai, the former secretary of Chong Qing party, has been removed from his post. This issue caused a big concern in China. , Liu Wei Zhong, the chief editor of Bauhinia Magazine, said the political situation of China will tend to be more democratic after the scandal.

Bo Xilai and his wife, Gu Kailai were suspected of killing a British man, Neil Heywood. Bo is the first government officer with a high post that was investigated by China public security in recent history. Liu said that it was a sensitive topic so it would be difficult for giving comments on the scandal when he was giving a talk in Shue Yan University. He only mentioned that Bo’s scandal will let China become more democratic and legalized way in the future.

Nowadays, the internal environment of China keeps changing. Bauhinia Magazine is a political magazine in China so it should face the changes of China. Being the chief editor of Bauhinia magazine, Liu said the position of their magazine will not change in the future. He emphasized that it will still base on the policy of “one country, two systems” as the editorial policy. “Our reports will be based on facts and allow them to keep their accuracy and authority,” Liu said.
