(Instead of "...Budget 2014 is not solutions to ..." how about "Budget 2014 provides no solution to....."? We have heard, from your report, a lot of complaints made by Chiu but you haven't named what the problems are or why is "does not dare making great changes" would render the budget not feasible. It seems to me that Chiu was putting the blame on Hong Kong's lack of independence, or Hong Kong's lack of capable technocrats, or the lack of democracy. If it is so, then HK would never fix the problem. Also there is a word for "fake medicine " in this case, it is called "placebo".)

Chiu described Finanacial Budget 2014 is not solutions to problems, and political and economic situation of Hong Kong is of the worst ever.

Being asked to describe the report, Chiu Sin Chun claimed the government does not dare making great changes, causing policy address and financial budget not feasible.

“I would describe the report as they (the government) knows the problems, but they cannot find solutions to deal with the problems,” said Chiu.

He mentioned Hong Kong, as a colony and now special administration region, has never been independent. All government officials are appointed, and there is no real democracy.

He also commented there is not much elites at political sector, while politicians in Hong Kong lack boldness and strong perspective, leading to regressing political and economic situations in Hong Kong.

He challenged the financial budget is not even a painkiller to existing problems in Hong Kong nowadays.

“It may be fake pills that could not cure anything,” he said, “Hong Kong have to pay much effort in improving, both politically and economically.”

Chiu has been reporting and commenting business news for over 30 years. He is working as NOW business programme co-host.
