“What you donate to us will be divided into two parts, one is for people in need, and the remaining is for investment,” said Louie Tong, manager of the community relation in the Community Chest.

“Please donate money to our organization,” Recently, you may find more and more people claiming to be representatives of charitable organizations on the street. Because of sympathy, many people are able to donate money. However, none of them know where the money (has-change tense) gone. According to Louie Tong, 90% of their funds are used to subsidize NGOs, while the remaining will be invested in a prudent way. “We have employed nine senior bankers to help (to-omit) monitor the situations of the financial markets. They will have at least six meetings a year to share and exchange opinions,” added Louie. She said there are $700 millions reserves for Community Chest, even there is insufficient fund for them, the organization can still function two more years. However, she doesn’t tell the public more about (why-use reason) the company uses the funds to invest.

Besides donating money directly, many people would like to do so through buying flags from students. “Honestly, we can’t gain a lot funds from selling flags, the reason why we continue to do so is hoping to cultivate the habits of helping others when people are young,” Not only for organizing fund-raising activities, the Community Chest also want to educate students to have (a-change to definite article) heart to help others. --095105 2012年3月13日 (二) 20:11 (UTC)
