Community Chest promise hundred percent of the fund will benefit the public

Hong Kong---Community Chest of Hong Kong was established in the 1960s, in addition to grants from Jockey Club and public donations, are relying on investment to maintain its operation over the years. This mode of operation has been questioned in violating the promise of ‘hundred percent of the fund will benefit the public ‘. Its community relations manager said the amount involved is very small and only for long-term stable investment.

” For sure there are certain risks in investment, but we will choose the one with small risk and our objective is capital preservation and promised that the entire fund will benefit the public.” Louis H S Tong said, Community relations manager of the Community Chest .She was present in Shue Yan University this afternoon, and said they need to do a small amount of investment in order to support the administration costs and a series of charity.

In addition, Tong pointed out that for the sake of gaining trust of public, the financial condition of the Community Chest has always maintain a high degree of transparency, to let the public know the whereabouts of the money.
