Huffington Post is an American news website established in 2005 which provides blogs

, original contents and columns becomes a popular platform for people to read news

that attracted 46.5 million unique views in Oct 2012. The successful of online media

seems a strike to traditional news media, let them to think of the future strategy.


Chris C. Anderson, senior editor of Huffington Post attended to general assembly at

Hong Kong Shue Yan University said that the printed media may definitely turn to

develop online media. “More and more, you can start to see printed media has shirted

to digital online media,” said Anderson.


He said that big circulation papers with 150 years history may not want to change,

thinking that they were old brands. However, Anderson said that the big circulation

papers can set up the online media with plan and he thought that they did know how

to do it.


Anderson pointed out that television was seen as a stupid technology compared to the

radio at the past, but everybody accepted at last. He thought that people can read

next piece by entering a button which charged the people’s minds who said that the

digital paper could not have.


In order to increase the popularity, Anderson said that the social network is a big

part of it to do with, such as Facebook and Twitter as well provides good quality

content and the content related to the readers to make them feel “we care about

what you care about”. Moreover, Anderson said that he wanted to push up Huffington

Post in Hong Kong which may have both Cantonese and English versions in the future.
