“I disagree using Public Nomination in the election of Hong Kong Chief Executive since no statement could be found in the Basic Law. It is useless to search for western suggested plans to adopt in Hong Kong.” said HAO, Tie Chuan, Director-General of the Department of Publicity, Cultural and Sports Affairs Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R..

HAO insisted the election of Hong Kong Chief Executive must follow the Basic Law and the Constitution of China. He pointed that the Constitution of China is the mother law and it is supposed to be above the Basic Law. So public and parties nomination should not be allowed under the law. “The chief executive should also be loving the country and loving Hong Kong. There is no way the Chinese Government allowing a person who resist them.” HAO said.

“Even the election systems of the western countries are different, it is not necessary to search and follow the so call international standard plans.” HAO added. If the western countries also adopt the systems of obeying the constitution, rejecting public and parties nomination is in the sense of world main stream.
