Joey Leung, famous stage actor who lives under the limelight for over a decade, active in various acting platform, such as movies, music video, but the most remarkable memory which keep in audience’s memory, was his performance on the stage.

Achievements upon various performing acts can be quantified, he said, “You can count how many tip toe circles could a dancer spin, how successful was a song being composed, but there’s only a fine line between good or bad drama, performance of certain actors, the defining standards are mainly subjective.”

“If an actor only reviews his acting by drama reviews from commentators, or feedbacks from audiences, and treats this as the only standard to judge the value of their performance, it is not feasible.” He added

A drama which produced wholeheartedly with good will, such as express positive message, could bring an actor inner confidence of his performance, and that’s the value that an actor should treasure the most.”

Leung points out the most significant difference between movie and drama, is that drama is a live performance, all the rehearsals and preparations before the show are for real time consumption.” He described the intimacy between the audience and the actor as “breathing the same air in the theatre.” And that’s the beauty that makes every drama performances unique.

Media coverage often label Joey as a well-known gay stage actor, as he has acted a struggled homosexual man in Queer Show (《攣到爆》). However, he doesn’t accept the stereotype that media and audiences had been added on him. Leung said, “Drama is the extraction of life, which extracts obstacles and conflict from life and magnify them on stage, homosexual love is just one of them.”

Leung does not believe in sexual claptrap in drama, “It’s all about love.” He said. ”Sexual attraction fades out, but not for true love.”
