Esme Lau, the public affairs manager Media & Community in Power Assets Holdings Ltd., said that the company is not focusing on nuclear plant and recent scientific research on establishing nuclear plant is not their agenda. She said she would consider adopting wind power and the plan will be constructing 28-35 windmills. Further investments will be on such wind power.

PR may take a spin doctor role

When asked about ex-Administrative Secretary Henry Tang’s affairs scandal, she said she would not comment from a corporate PR’s view. Instead, she said, she took an angle from public, explained that, “Henry’s saying did affect his image to public, it is undeniable.” Professor Leung Tin Wai also commented that Henry is not suitable to be our next chief executive as he was not capable in terms of his ability when comparing with ex-US president,Bill Clinton.

Being a reporter is a milestone to be a successful PR

She said, “I have been reporter for four years.” To be a reporter, luckily, expanded her social circle and developed a good networking. This kind of communication channel made her a success in PR this career because of extensive networking. Being a reporter also equips her to be a persistent and “diligent” person because working for 10-12 hours is common working conditions for reporters.
