The 2018 World Cup was held successfully in Russia in July 2018. Behind the scene, many people were dedicated on this big event. Wong Ka Ho, one of the reporters from Hong Kong, was assigned to handle the reporting work about The 2018 World Cup. Wong was invited to Shue Yan University to share his experiences during his working trip in Russia.

“It is important to be curious as this helps you find something interesting and valuable,” said Wong Ka Ho, a sports reporter of Sing Tao Daily, as well as being an alumni of Shue Yan University. As being a sports reporter for about two years, Wong said he will never miss any chances to learn new things, never feel bored, the positive attitude indeed helps him a lot in finding new topics to do.

Wong was assigned to have interview the World Cup for 37 days. He claimed that he had done many preparations before going to Russia. For example, he made researches and watched television programmes about Russia. "In my opinion, I think the research is very important for me. I go to Russia, not just like going to a trip, instead, the preparations I have done can make me communicate with the local people easier", as said by Wong. He reminded the audiences the importance of making good preparations before an interview.

Besides the World Cup, Wong has taken videos on introducing Russia delicious cuisines, like borscht and vodka. "Sports are amazing, it can connect with different aspects, just like food", as said by Wong. He advised the audiences "always be curious to things around each of us, and explore more about the world, that is what a journalism student should do."
