Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fun, member of Executive Council, said she did not think herself was one of the delegates who described by Ng Hong Man as ‘entrench themselves in the position but fail to carry out the duty’.

Regarding to Ng Hong Man, a former Hong Kong delegate to the National People's Congress, some delegates were taking the pay of the position but neglecting the duty, Law Fan replied that, “For Mr. Ng, I always respect him and I thought that his expression was not talking about me,” causing the students inside the hall laughed.

She explained further that she was not clear about what standard Ng had used to define who the cases were. She disagreed to use the number of participating meetings and investigation in China since “Some delegates have business in the mainland so they originally know more about our mother-land; on the contrary, I used to be a government officer and I don’t have any commercial affairs there so I have to put greater endeavour to learn.”

She said that she was intended to sign up for the election of Hong Kong delegate to the National People's Congress on November 24—the first day. She explained she wanted to approach the election committees earlier, give leaflets to them and report what she had done in the past five years.

She added that she had also launched a personal website especially for this election. It lists out more than 30 sets of suggestions and opinions that she handed in to National People's Congress the past five years. She said she had gone to nine inspections in mainland and attended the conference of standing Committee of the National People's Congress for three times.

“I think that the past five years provided me many opportunities to learn about various aspects of our country. I hope that after possessing this foundation, I can do better and more efficiently in the next five years.” She also said that her mission is to act as a bridge of Hong Kong and the mainland.
