The Budget had been published last week. Hong Kong residents mainly focus on the $6000 scheme last year, but as government said before, no more money would be given this year. Financial expert commented, "Hong Kongers are too shallow."

Having worked in the financial field for more than 30 years, Chiu Sin Chun thinks the focus of Hong Kong residents is not macro enough. "Only focusing on the free delivery of money from government, how pathetic," said Chiu.

Regarding the Budget, Chiu thinks that although there are taxes preferential, still the government is not doing enough to help Hong Kong society. "Have the government ever thought of help promoting the knowledge of normal Hong Kong residents? The answer is absolutely negative," said the expert.

Chiu further commented on the budget and thinks government is not doing a good job in terms of education. Although government has planned to spend a lot of money, but still there is only a small portion is related to education.

But Chiu said the principle of the Budget, which is "cutting one's coat according to one's cloth", is a correct idea. "Somehow the government is being too inactive. Why should there always demand before supply? Why can't there supply comes first and make the demand appears?" said Chiu.

Concluding his speech, Chiu said if the government does not provide policy that will benefit Hong Kong residents, then we could call the government a miser, but this time the Budget was not a very bad one afterall.
