Former TVB anchor Ivan Yau: Journalist should be careful on commenting online

Recently, former reporter of TVB, Ryan Lau has posted a passage which (has-change to hold past tense) concealed meaning of (rehabilitate the Tiananmen crackdown on Weibo-rephrase, what do you mean by rehabilitate?) . This act triggers(past tense) public argue(verb-use noun) whether journalist(-more than one) is suitable to publish their own viewpoint, especially political view() on Internet. Experienced and former anchor of TVB, Cable, and NOW, Ivan Yau said in the general assembly in Hong Kong Shue Yan University, “Journalist should be very careful when making statement or speech(plural) online.”


Ivan Yau believed that sharing one’s own viewpoint online is no() right or wrong, however, he would not share his daily life as well as political view online intentionally. “If the incident was related to moral issue, I will consider posting my opinion on Internet, however, (article) Internet is a public space, therefore, ones should think twice before posting any comment online.” He also added it would be fine if someone shared his or her view in his or her own group with privacy and not to the mass(es-or public).
