The fire (transition word) broke out in Garley Building caused (article) death of 41 people was one of the most serious disasters in Hong Kong. Besides feeling shocked and frightened, as a reporter, you need to keep a calm emotion wherever you are. Ivan Yau, former anchor from TVB, NOW TV and Cable TV, said, “As a professional reporter, you should keep the (basic manner?) of being a reporter”.

“It was a really unforgettable experience that you saw how people died from fire and the dead bodies were everywhere.” Ivan was really sad when he was at the scene. However, if the reporters are not being (clam) in front of the camera, their audiences will be affected and they will not trust what they say. At this moment, Ivan thinks that the reporters are not professional anymore. “Reporting such a big accident is really an honor (of-use diff preposition) my career!” When Ivan finished reporting the news to the audiences, he gained a sense of satisfaction because he thought he could give the messages that the readers needed. “The message itself is the most important part in reporting, but you need to make it easier to be understood”.

In this century, Ivan admitted that media competition have been more vigorous due to the invention of new technologies. “The accuracy of the news and the speed (of-at which news...) transmit(ting) the news are still important in today’s news”. He also thinks that the roles of reporters are really important because they can affect or help others with the words they say and write, so reporters should utilize their functions to put an eye on the society. --095105 2012年3月6日 (二) 20:29 (UTC)
