HKSYU, MAR 6- Once (article) Hong Kong Journalist Association strived for (high?) freedom (continually?), it is ironic that there is an increasing number of media companies controlling their journalists (by-chane to with) strict censorship. Due to this scenario, (a serious level of public worry has been raised-change to active voice the level..rising to..serious...).

Yet, Ivan Yau, a former anchor of TVB News showed his fierce opposo(i)tion during the sharing session in HKSYU. As the one fighting at the battlefront, he believed that it is no significant difference or remarkable decline of (press freedom-need to use "of the" in between the two) after (def article) handover.

“I cannot sense the grave influence of censorship throughout the past two decades,”said Ivan Yau.

The deceased Mainland Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping said to British Foreign Minister Geoffrey Howe in 1984. On the Hong Kong issue, a promise that the capitalist system and way of living in HKSAR will remain unchanged for 50 years after 1997 had been announced by China. In accordance with the provisions of Basic Law, it is authorized that HKSAR can exercise a high degree of autonomy of executive, legislative, and judicial power. “Actually, the power of press (is-omit) remain() unchange(past tense) too,” Ivan Yau appreciated.

“However, media nowadays is still being strongly criticized by public due to the revealed scandals,’ said Yau.

The Reunification by Mainland took place on 1 July 1997 and the event marked the end of British rule and the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong to China. As the closer interaction with media firms with mainland China, a slight change in reporting mode might occur, according to Yau. He firmly believed that it is not true for the soaring trend of reporting designated news pieces after the handover.

Ivan Yau once worked as anchor in TVB News and Now TV which enhances his experience within media field. He is now the Corporate Communications Division (CCD) who is responsible for corporate communications and event organization in Sino Group. The group is one of the largest property companies in Hong Kong which comprises private holding companies.
