(It seems that you have mixed up ADPL with the rest of the pan-democratic parties. It is ADPL that is notable for its grass-root social works in poor communites, especially in Sham Shui Po while some other pan-democratic parties are less community oriented. Civic Party, which consists mostly lawyers as members, is one such example. You owe your readers an explanation why DAB (the competitor) is wealthy enough to provide such generous materials? And most of all, what kind of a political party is DAB? )

Legislative Council Member Frederick Fung believes pan-democrats would not lose half of their seats in the coming District Council election as Bruce Liu, Chairman of Hong Kong Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood, said last week.

Fung said, pan-democrats focus on community work for many years especially the grass-root class. He stated that although their competitors, democratic alliance for the betterment and progress of Hong Kong, acquire adequate capital for election use, caring the community is the biggest advantage of the pan-democrats. He believes, if they can continuously pay more effort to help the underprivileged, they still can retain the support in their district. Yet he said, he cannot predict the future political environment.

Fung believes, the active student leaders of the Umbrella Movement like, Joshua Wong and Lester Shum already have a basic path to become politicians in future. But replacing the recent legislative council is not as easy as Bruce Liu think. As a legislative council member, he should have the clear mind of their political value and gain enough support from Hong Kong people.

Fung said, it is the first time of experiencing such a special time in Hong Kong since he has worked for politics for more than 30 years. He does not deny that Hong Kong is facing a critical stage now. But he feels pleased that teens could take part in the social movement and show their concern on political issue. “Politics is the arts of possible” Fung explained, politics can make things happen. The social movement helps people to voice out their hope and needs. And it is the right time to discuss how to implement the common value of the Hong Kong people to achieve a democratic society in future.
