Free daily has developed rapidly in Hong Kong. Danny Fung, director of AM730 Media Limited, said that free daily will even develop further. With advertising companies’ target audience, like teenagers, professionals, high education and income groups, as the major readers of free daily, the advertising income will grow big enough to support the future of free daily. The role of free daily will become more and more important as it will be one of the major information sources to the public. To make AM730 outstanding in the free daily market, Fung said, the “conscience” is the key. “To report a child dead in a traffic accident, photos of the flooding of blood can be used to draw attentions, but what we did was to use a picture of white rose to respect the victims and the dead.” Although the circulation of AM730 is the lowest among three free daily in Hong Kong, but with the policy that “quality over quantity”, Fung is confident to see a bright future of AM730.
