When you are doing your dream work in a famous company, would you choose to quit and develop a new career? Dixon Wu discovered that his dream work did not suit his characters and started to pursue his new dream as a director of Flagship Company.

Dixon Wu, the director of Flagship company shared his view on the topic ‘How to pitch and make a TV programme’ with students in Hong Kong Shue Yan university yesterday. Wu said that he used to have a dream work as a game designer in a famous company in New York which offered him with around HK$30000 to HK$40000 month salary. Besides his company provided massage for the staff every week. However facing such an attractive job in every one’s eyes, Wu discovered that there is a huge gap between what he wants to do and the job.

‘Designing games are different from that of studying a game seriously.’ said Wu. For instance, he had to observe buildings in the New York City and represent them in 3d models. Gradually he discovered that these were not the things that he pursuit and decided to leave.

Wu tried to create his own business after returning to Hong Kong. He created a magazine which targets professionals and mail to the designated readers.

By publishing a magazine, he accumulated good relationships with many celebrities and experts in different fields. This leads to the production career that he have found himself enthusiastic at.

Wu encouraged students that you can reach you destination whenever you want, it just takes time. But more importantly, to discover what you really want.
