Many people abuse citizens’ kindness and deceive others. The mainland China’s charities are often criticized for (incredibility-check meaning of this word, then correct with lack of) . Louie Tong, the Community Relations manager of the Community Chest, said that people should not contempt for it because the mainland’s charities (are-have) just started.

These years, lots of news reported that some (m)ainland people claimed (to be) (as-omit) staff of charity groups in order to show off and deceive others. For example, Guo Meimei, a 20-year-old girl, flaunted her wealth under the identity of commerce general manger of Red Cross Society of China on social network. Hence, the donations have sharply dropped and questioned its credibility.

Tong would not deny that some law-breakers illegally used people’s kindness to make profits on society. “The mainland’s charity is just started,” said she. Now private donations account for approximately 5 % of the total mainland donations, the others are the direct subsidies from government department.

“Hong Kong people should influence the mainlanders to change their uncivilized behaviours by civilized ways,” said Tong. And she called for “(not (missing infinitive marker) despise the mainlanders.”

However, when people encounter cheating behaviours, Tong suggests that they should call “999” and report (pronoun) to police.
