(Your lead could be simplified by saying that "the government has been subsidizing performing arts programs with the same approach as it has to social programs and the practice should be reconsidered." Why there was room to reconsider the practice after 2000? Why after 2000? You owe your readers an explanation.)

By SIU, Hang Nam, 2012-04-16-Government has been putting social service as the first priority concerning the subsidies on drama, said Tang, Shu Wing, Artistic Director of Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio. He said this priority was having room to be reconsidered.

Tang was the former Dean of School of Drama in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He directed Titus Andronicus 2.0, which was performed in London, and Detention, which was travelling performed in China.

Tang was asked about if he thought support from government to the development of drama was enough. He said that government was continuously supporting development of drama, which could be seen from the great number of new productions. So, he would not say the government treat it not important. He said there were three main elements that the government had to consider when granting subsidies to develop drama industry: social service, entertainment, and education.

‘The government had been putting social service as the first priority, which I agree so.’ Said Tang. However, he said, there was room to reconsider after 2000.
