Hao Tie Chuan, director-general of the Department of Publicity, Cultural and

Sports Affairs Liaison Office of the Central Peoples’s Government in the HKSAR,

said the five rules that Li Fei, deputy secretary-general of China's National

People's Congress Standing Committee, responding to the public consultation on

universal suffrage, are consistent to the mainstream view of international

community on universal suffrage.

Hao said today at Shue Yan University that as there are no differences on the

view of universal suffrage between Hong Kong and international community, it is

unnecessary to design a specific program on universal suffrage for Hong Kong,

according to the ‘so–called’ standards of Western countries.

He believed, most of the Hong Kong citizens agreed to have a chief executive

who will not oppose the central government and love both China and Hong Kong.

Hao said Hong Kong must adhere to keep the Nominating Committee, in order to

reach the comprehensive consideration on public opinions.
