The General Director of Cultural and Sports Affairs Liaison Office of the Central Peoples’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. said that he hoped The Hong Kong Chief Executive general election of 2017 will be achieved, and there were three important elements for Hong Kong’s general election.

The concept of universal suffrage was one person, one vote

Hao Tie Chuan said that the most essential and standard concept of General Election was one person, one vote. The right of voting was general and fair for every citizen. The concept was accepted by every country internationally, which was consistent with the perspectives of the main stream society.

The Hong Kong Chief Executive election of 2017 will be the election for the fifth term of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong and is scheduled for 2017.

The foundation of General Election was the rule of by law

“The foundation of democratic rights is law, at the same time, the law is the guarantee of democratic rights”, Hao said. Hao believed that when the government was chosen by citizens, the government would not slack off.

No need to plan a standard proposal for general election

“It was unnecessary to find some foreigners professionals to design a standard general election proposal for Hong Kong”, said Hao. Even though the elections of other countries, they were not in the same standard and format. Hao said that it was impossible to create an election system that could be worked on every country. There is no perfect model anywhere in the world, but the important thing is that the citizens of Hong Kong could have choice to enable them to feel the freedom and democracy.
