David Schlesinger said, Journalists should add values

Advanced technology has a great influence in the modern world. It (convinces?) our communication network. David Schlesinger, the chairman for Thomson Reuters China said everyone can be a reporters now through releasing messages on the Internet .The role of journalists seems (being-use present perfect) replaced.,

David Schlesinger, the chairman for Thomson Reuters China attended the General Assembly in Hong Kong Shue Yan University. He said “Journalists should (meet with?) the quickly changing technology and by adding values to themselves in order not to be left behind by the (adj first press industria)l”.

David Schlesinger mentioned “There is seven dollars loss in the printing one. This shows that newspaper is the quickest shrinking industry with today's growing technology as people can report things over the Internet.”

The recent figures from the US shows the declining trend in digital newspaper; therefore, he thinks journalists should add-value to meet the society changes.

David Schlesinger pointed out that there were millions of Internet users who are monitoring the world everyday and all of them have the potential to become a journalist.

“When things happened, like a train crash or an earthquake, 20 years ago, journalists were the witnesses and to report the case. If they didn't report it, things (seemed not happening at all-helping verb missing),” he said.

Therefore, he thinks journalists should learn more to prepare for the changing market.
