Triple play communications, which is the combination of Internet, broadcasting network and telecommunication, is a big trend nowadays. Ho Yuet-fung, the global media specialist and Former Managing Director of CBS Broadcast International Asia Inc., CBS Inc., United States was invited to the general assembly of Journalism and Communication Department at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, to share her view on this trend.

Ho Yuet-fung said technology changes lead to behavior changes. Take reading daily news as an example,(run-on) traditional newspaper can offer longer and more in-depth news stories but at the same time, readers need longer time to cover the whole set of newspaper. But now, as technology changes, online news appeared which caused scattered, shorter and faster news popular. Readers can therefore take less time to get known the abstract of the daily news.

Ho further said technology changes lead to business model changes. She took reality TV audience voting through telephone, Internet and SMS texting as an example. She explained how business model changes due to technology changes, “International online voting was offered in season 10 of American Idol, and all voters need to create a Facebook account before being able to vote online for American Idol. The votes were counted and verified by Telescop Inc. in U.S.” ((direct and to the point...well-written and decent title as well...very good work))
