Hong Kong’s real democracy is depends on the Chinese Government

Yeung Po Ling, Stella

Joseph Yu-shek Cheng, the Spokesperson of Alliance for True Democracy, expressed doubt about the real democracy in Hong Kong.

Cheng deems the Hong Kong Government is not the final decision maker, but the Central Government. He predicts that all of the policy will not have any result unless The Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist had done. Hong Kong’s real democracy is depends on the Chinese Government.

Cheng said that Pan-democracy Camp is occupying a wide political spectrum, so it is hard to gain the whole party's agreement of one specific topic. As group mates separate in different area of the Alliance for True Democracy, members need to take long time for discussion to get final decision. This is time-consuming. Cheng agrees that it is important to ensure all members are firmly united, because it will be the main key to raise the public appeal of the alliance. However, Cheng said Alliance for True Democracy is lack of funds, he suggested 3 ways to raise funds for the running of alliance: from friends, fund-raising dinner and street donation.
