new version:

Citing the success of the Pokemon Go game based on Augmented Reality technology, a creative industry practitioner said the Government has failed to provide enough support for the development of VR in the city.

This is the view of Dio Wong, creative director of 430 Ltd, a local tech firm.

He said although the Government has set up a $2 billion-mark Innovation and Technology Venture Fund to help the industry, local firms have not yet benefited from it.

One problem is the process of application was too long.

Another was the requirement that the programme in application should be related to both commerce and education. Wong said it was not easy to have programme that has education element.

On education, he said primary school students now learned programming in school. But resources for programming education in universities are inadequate, he said. The government should put more resources on programming education.
