“Variety Shows in Mainland are much better than Hong Kong now,” said by Ng Yu, a former TVB production director. “They can pay a big number.”

Compare with Mainland, the quality of Variety Shows in Hong Kong is decreasing. Ng explained the lack of resources in television and the unprofessional attitude of artists are the key causes.

“In Mainland, they can pay you RMB 100thousand dollars to their show and also extra subsidies. It is a big number and impossible in Hong Kong,” he said. “Another problem is Hong Kong artists cannot totally put themselves in the show. They also have a tight schedule that cannot pay more time to rehearsal or prepare.”

“There are two things can put ourselves in, money and audience,” famous actor Wong Hei said. Not only the number of payment is bigger, the number of audience is very large too.

He explained he can involved more in Mainland Variety Shows because more people watched and remembered you means your commercial value was increasing. “It provides you a chance to earn more money. ”

However, he agreed that time for rehearsal and prepare was not that much in Hong Kong. “You have to spend at least a day to rehearsal in mainland.” ((solid work...consistent again..keep it up!))
