Hong Kong must insist on nominating committee system

Hao Tie Chuan, director general of Department of Publicity, Cultural and Sports Affairs Liaison Office of the Central Peoples’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R., said the thoughts expressed by Li Fei, the chairman of the Basic Law Committee, matches the international majority views on universal suffrage.


Hao Tie Chuan attend the talk in Hong Kong Shue Yan University today, and stated that he shared the same view with Li. Li came to Hong Kong last week and stated out 5 requirements of the universal suffrage in 2017. He emphasizes the universal suffrage in 2017 should occur according to Basic Law,National People's Congress and the 5 requirements which Li has mentioned. Hao stressed Hong Kong must insist on nominating committee system and which cannot be changed. He also said it is rational to require a chief executive of a city to "love the country and Hong Kong" as very citizen in China need to obey the National Constitution Law and cannot overthrow the Central Government.


Hao stated the China is on the path to achieve democracy, and he hope that universal suffrage can be held in China in the 50s of this century. A student ask if he would vindicate Tiananmen Square Massacr, he didn't give a exact answer and said China government has already had a conclusion on this issue .
