iBond should not be issue again, says Chiu Sin Chun

Last Wednesday was the last Budget issued by the Financial Secretary John Tsang. As people had high expectation ((on)) it, Tsang’s new financial plan actually( turned Hong Kong people down-phrase used incorrectly-check meaning of turn down). The senior financial critics of Now TV also commented(x) the iBond as non-sense.

The Budget suggested that the government will reissue less than $10 billion iBond as it was unexpectedly popular last year. However, Chiu disagreed with the plan. “It should be criticized,” he said. He thought that the iBond will not help with the inflation problem in Hong Kong at all, however, it may increase the burden of the tax payers. He said that iBond is not an investment, but only for investor to save money. “The dividends came from the tax payer,” Chiu said. He thought that the iBond is only to switch the money from the tax payer to the bond holder, and let the tax payers to pay for the inflation.

Your article offers good insight on public opinion & figures, however it lacks background information (what is an iBond? when did this happen?where?), and a proper closing.

CORRECTION:

Last Wednesday was the last Budget issued by the Financial Secretary John Tsang. As people had high expectation on it, Tsang’s new financial plan actually let the Hong Kong people down. The senior financial critics of Now TV also commented the iBond as non-sense.

iBond was issued last year by Tsang as well at The Budget. This year, The Budget suggested that the government will reissue less than $10 billion iBond as it was unexpectedly popular last year.

Chiu thought that iBond should not be reissued. Government should think of something else to help the Hong Kong people.
